In Talbot County, the Board's three members are appointed by the Governor to six-year terms (Code 1957, Art. 2B, sec. 15-101).

OFFICE OF PERMITS & INSPECTIONS
The Office of Permits and Inspections administers and enforces building codes in Talbot County. The purpose of the codes is to provide minimum requirements to safeguard life or limb, health and public welfare. The codes apply to the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, location, maintenance, removal and demolition of every building or structure or any appurtenances connected or attached to such buildings or structures in the County (County Code, secs. 28-1 through 28-5)
