Appointed by the County Executive with County Council consent, Board members serve three-year terms (Code 1957, Art. 25, sec. 226; County Charter, sec. 410; County Code, secs. 41-20 through 41-24).

RECREATION BOARD
The Recreation Board studies the recreation services and needs of the County, and advises the County Executive, County Council, and Director of Recreation on recreation policies and services. The Board also helps develop and maintain cooperative relationships with the Board of Education, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, and voluntary agencies in the County on matters affecting recreation programs and services.
