Authorized in December 2000, the Governor established the Interagency Transition Council for Youth with Disabilities in November 2001 (Executive Order 01.01.2000.26). In August 2007, the Council was reconstituted (Executive Order 01.01.2007.13).
Annually, the Council reviews and updates the Interagency State Plan for Transitioning Students with Disabilities (Chapter 435, Acts of 1995; Code Education Article, sec. 21-305). Since 2007, the Council also has provided oversight and guidance for the Maryland Seamless Transition Collaborative.
