In June 2007, the Task Force to Study Rent Stabilization for the Elderly in Prince George's County was established (Chapter 419, Acts of 2007). The Task Force reviewed the current rent stabilization laws of the District of Columbia and other local governments and municipal corporations. It then considered how current rent levels affect senior citizens in Prince George's County. Finally, the Task Force recommended possible statutory or regulatory changes to the Prince George's County Council.

The Task Force reported to the Prince George's County Council on November 1, 2007.
