In June 2008, the Task Force to Study Locations in Prince George's County Best Suited for Use by State Agencies was formed (Chapter 682, Acts of 2008). The Task Force was charged with studying and making recommendations concerning what locations in the County would serve State agency functions; which State agencies might relocate to the County; and how to encourage State agencies to so relocate.

Authorization for the Task Force expired September 30, 2009. The Task Force reported to the Governor in January 2010.
