In July 2006, the Task Force on Minority Participation in the Environmental Community was authorized (Chapter 520, Acts of 2006). The Task Force considered establishing environmental centers at historically black colleges and universities to disseminate information about careers concerned with the environment. Such centers might implement environmental education and restoration projects for faculty research and student participation.
The Task Force submitted its report to the Governor on November 16, 2007.
