With total value of shipments of manufactured goods in 2010 at $39.9 billion, total annual payroll by Maryland manufacturers was $6.1 billion paid to 106,807 workers.
In 2010, Maryland manufacturing was led by computer and electronic product manufactures ($5.1 billion), chemical manufactures ($4.1 billion), food, beverage and tobacco manufactures ($2.9 billion), and plastics and rubber manufactures ($0.9 billion).
